Please note that billing is at the discretion of the doctor and fees vary from doctor to doctor. Fees are also subject to change on weekends and public holidays.
Pensioners, Health Care card holders and children under 16 years of age will be bulk billed on weekdays during normal office hours (regular patients only). On weekends the payment will be between $90.00 - $108.00 which includes a gap payment of $43.90 - $64.10.
All billings remain at the doctor's discretion, and are subject to periodic review.
Extended consultations, or those involving extra procedures, will be charged accordingly. Home visits and after hours call-out fees are generally higher and attract a different government rebate. Special Practice Notes
Repeat Prescriptions. If the doctor has agreed to write a script for regular medicine without seeing you, please give us 24-hour’s notice before you require the script. For legal and quality of service reasons, if you have not discussed this with your doctor you will most likely be required to make an appointment for a consultation.
Pathology. Please check with your doctor at the time of consultation, when a test is ordered, about accessing the results. All results must be reviewed by the doctor and, generally, you will need to make an appointment to discuss them. NB: Reception staff are NOT qualified to answer questions about your results.
Telephone Access. Doctors at this practice may be contacted during normal working hours. If your doctor is with a patient a message will be taken and the call will be returned either in between consultations or at the end of the session. Your call will be put through to the doctor in the case of an emergency.
Privacy. Tuncurry Medical Centre complies with the Privacy Act 1998 and the Privacy Amendment Act 2000 to collect, manage, disclose, and protect personal and sensitive information.
Languages. Languages spoken at this practice are English, Russian, and Singalese.

Appointments & Fees
For all script and referral enquiries, you will need an appointment with your doctor. If you are eligible this can be done via phone consultation.

- If you’re unable to attend your scheduled appointment please call at least 2 hours before. In case of non-attendance a no show fee applies. Thanks for your understanding.
- Children under 16 years of age, Pensioners and Health Care Card holders are generally bulk billed (excluding visitors) for general consultations. Please check with reception staff at the time of making your appointment.
- All Saturday appointments will be Privately Billed at the discretion of the doctors
- All visitors to the area (including their children) and all other private patients will be asked to pay for their consultation at the time of the consult. Tuncurry Medical Centre is able to claim your rebate through Medicare on your behalf on site.
- Commercial driver’s license medical examination and pre-employment medical examinations will be charged privately.
- Workers' compensation and insurance company enquiries will be billed according to available fees and practice policy.

The Tuncurry Medical Centre is an AGPAL Accredited General Practice, which means the practice meets the RACGP Standards for General Practice and undergoes commence a continuous quality improvement towards best practice.
