Established in 2002, Tuncurry Medical Centre is a locally operated, AGPAL-accredited general practice committed to delivering accessible, evidence-based care to the Tuncurry community. The practice's team of AHPRA-registered general practitioners brings diverse experience and a shared dedication to continuity of care, collaboration, and clinical excellence. We take the time to understand each patient’s needs and support their health at every stage of life. With a strong focus on preventive care and long-term health management, we offer a broad range of services—from routine health assessments to chronic illness care and mental health support. On-site Pathology services allows for convenient testing, streamlining the diagnostic process.     Dr Laden relocated to Forster-Tuncurry in 1997. Originally from Western Australia, he is a graduate of the University of Western Australia. After spending his intern and resident years at Royal Perth and Kalgoorlie Reginal Hospitals, he set off to adventure in the Top End.


    He met his future wife whilst both working at Royal Darwin Hospital, together they journeyed to Far North Queensland, with positions at Ingham, Townsville and Thursday Island.


    Dr Laden is the practice principal, and GP registrar supervisor. He continues to visit his residents at all the local aged care facilities and remains with admitting rights to Forster Private Hospital. He thoroughly enjoys the variety that general practice brings.


    Away from work he enjoys going to the gym, running (often seen at parkrun), cooking and gardening.

    Dr Perera graduated from Kharkov State Medical University, Ukraine (former USSR), and her first appointment was at a very remote community in Sri Lanka. Having served for various hospitals in Colombo and remote communities for more than 10 years, she migrated to Australia and worked for public hospitals in Canberra, Camden, Gosford and Wyong.


    Here she is in Tuncurry to continue her journey to become a Fellow at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners 

    She enjoys cooking, sight-seeing, photography and singing.
